AbbVie is offering the opportunity for a Market Access Analyst to join our Market Access (MA) team for 6-12 months on a full- or part-time contractual basis based in our Sydney office. The role will be tailored to develop and extend market access and health economics and outcomes research (HEOR) skills of the individual as well as meet AbbVie business needs and will involve delivery of project(s) relevant to one or more of AbbVie’s therapeutic areas.

Major Responsibilities:
  • Project(s)

Completion of a health economics, outcomes research and/or market access project(s). This will be tailored and agreed with the analyst and supported by a supervisor with appropriate technical knowledge. The project could also potentially contribute as a capstone thesis or project towards academic qualifications (subject to confidentiality/publication requirements).

  • Support reimbursement activities

    Work collaboratively within the Market Access (MA) team and with other functions to support reimbursement related matters under the direction of a supervisor. This could involve finding and analysing data to solve business problems and make recommendations to management.

  • Team collaboration

    Active participation at team meetings and shadowing MA therapeutic area lead at brand team meetings.

Education/Experience Required:
  • Required: Undergraduate qualification in health science or economics related field

  • Desired: Studying or recently completed, a tertiary qualification in health economics, economics, public health, statistics, health sciences or related fields.

Essential Skills & Abilities:

Knowledge of the Australian healthcare system

Knowledge of Australia’s registration and reimbursement processes

Advanced proficiency in Excel

Knowledge of commercialisation issues for pharmaceuticals (desirable)
