From the day one interns participate in on-boarding activities, receive extensive on the job training and participate in professional training courses that give all the tools needed for success. Assignments are structured in such a way as to give the intern the opportunity to make a measurable impact.          


We are looking for are looking for two Chemists to join the Cork intern programme. Our Cork Site, in Carricktwohill, is a Bulk Oral Solid Dose manufacturing site which is undergone a significant site expansion. Interns will also work on cross functional Continuous Improvement Projects with site and global teams. Interns can also join our culture teams and STEM education outreach ambassador programmes.

 

We are looking for an Analytic and a Process Chemist intern. Interns will work within the Site Technology team and Quality teams. Sample project will include the following activities:

  • Support new product introductions in to the development and commercial facilities.

  • Process support, trouble shooting and optimisation of commercial products.

  • Support new material qualification activities onsite.

  • Support the various Site Technology functions including development facility and Site Technology Analytical Laboratory.

  • Support validation activities onsite.

  • Quality Control and Quality Assurance.

  • Analytical Laboratory processes and techniques.

  • Work collaboratively and cross functionally with Quality, EHS, Production and Engineering.

Requirements for an internship with Abbvie

  • Studying for a Bachelors or Master’s Degree student in a Chemistry related field. Min of 3.0 GPS or 2.1

  • Completed at least one year of college education before beginning internship

  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship

  • EU working permit

  • School and/or work experience using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.3D CAD software experience
