The Project Manager, Marketing Operations Material Review facilitates the management of Advertising & Promotional materials as they pertain to the U.S. Commercial Material Review process and Veeva PromoMats.

  • The Project Manager, Marketing Operations Material Review ensures:

  • Facilitation of cross-functional team (Medical, Regulatory, Commercial, Legal, Compliance, others) review and approval of:

    • Advertising materials
    • Promotional materials
    • Sales Training materials
    • Promotional Labeling materials
  • Management of cross functional team members and advertising agencies

  • Open communication of material status with cross-functional team members and advertising agencies

  • Tactical support and project timeline oversight of materials through material review process

  • Consulting and training support to all team members responsible for uploading and approving materials within the material review process


The Project Manager. Marketing Operations Material Review: 

  • Provides support to U.S. Commercial, Medical reviewers, Regulatory reviewers and other key stakeholders to ensure the appropriate and timely review of all promotional, non-promotional materials

Core Responsibilities:
  • The Project Manager, Marketing Operations Material Review serves as the liaison for all team members working within the Material Review process and Veeva PromoMats.


Additionally, provides key leadership for:

  • Solutions and contingency plans to facilitate business success

  • Holds self and team accountable for results

  • Serves as a mentor and coaches others on the Material Review process and Veeva PromoMats


Cross-functional team meetings:  Project manages a team of 10 to 20 cross-functional team members

  • Facilitation and review of all advertising, promotion, disease awareness sales training and promotional labeling material by the cross-functional team (Medical, Regulatory, Commercial Legal, Compliance, others)

  • Sets agendas and facilitates the collaboration meetings

  • Leads team discussion on metrics, evaluates and provides opportunities for improved agility

  • Consistently communicates timely and accurate information and project progress to project owners

  • Identifies project bottlenecks and brings cross-functional team members together to resolve issues

  • Provides solutions and contingency plans to facilitate business success

  • Shares and documents best practices/lessons learned to enhance overall business success

  • Maintains ongoing communication with project owners / vendors to ensure that project timelines are aligned with business needs and expectations

Process Management:
  • Proactively provides consulting; expertise and PromoMats process training to cross-functional team members

  • Evaluates and updates processes to adapt to a changing environment and to optimize Efficiencies

  • Coordinates logistics to ensure timely production, fulfillment and shipment of materials

Key Skills
  • Demonstrates the ability to prioritize and multitask in a fast-paced, rapidly changing environment

  • Maintain a positive, energetic, and engaged attitude and approach to work under times of stress

  • Demonstrate good understanding of how to navigate the Material Review process and working knowledge of Veeva PromoMats

  • Demonstrates good knowledge of policies and procedures

  • Demonstrates good understanding of the brand(s) supported

  • Understands the brand priorities, key tactics and timelines




  • Project Management knowledge and minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience required

  • Additional experience above 5 years will be considered for a higher grade

  • Strong planning and organizational skills are required to successfully multitask and problem solve in a fast-paced environment.

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Science, Education, Communication or related

  • Knowledge and prior experience in marketing, and communication or advertising agency experience is a plus

  • Ability to understand marketing campaign messaging for assigned brand; recognizes inconsistencies in campaigns

  • Lead or participate in a product launch initiative

  • Working knowledge of Adobe Acrobat; MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint and Veeva PromoMats

  • Possesses ability to learn and adapt to other software tools as necessary

  • Knowledge and prior experience with AbbVie products, marketing, and communication or advertising agency experience is a plus

  • Print and digital production knowledge is a plus
