Summary of Job Description:
  • Using strong knowledge of regulatory, market access and pricing process and regulations within the Australian market and with a holistic understanding of drug development from discovery through to commercialisation,  the Head of Pipeline Strategy assesses and recommends prioritisation of early products for the AU affiliate and leads cross functional teams for prioritised products to develop and deliver brand strategy to the point of effective transition to the commercial business.

Major Responsibilities:
Pipeline Strategy
  • Conduct early brand assessments for Phase 1/2 products within the 1-7-5 brand planning process and timelines. 
  • Lead annual pipeline prioritization process.
  • For prioritised products, form and lead early cross functional/Brand Teams to deliver against brand strategy.
    o Define local commercialisation needs through the AbbVie Brand Planning process including gap assessments.
    o Advocate for affiliate needs with Regional and Global teams.
    o Develop provisional local launch timelines, lead Launch Excellence process for each pipeline product .
    o Brief and interpret insights from market research
    o Establish early external expert relationships and Advisory Boards.
    o Lead supply chain forecasting and management
    o Enable effective transition from Pipeline Brand Teams to Commercial Launch Teams.
  • Lead pipeline strategy budget and financial planning. 
  • Manage Pipeline Tracker for S&OP reporting.

Education/Experience Required:
  • Min 5 years experience in Strategic or Business function
  • Pre-commercial launch readiness experience with exposure to regulatory, reimbursement and product development planning  processes
  • Experience in scenario planning, analysis of strategic options and business proposal preparation
  • Ability to lead cross functional teams
