Education/Experience Required:

Desirable:

  • Post Graduate qualification in Health Policy/Government Relations or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of New Zealand political environment
  • Understanding of PHARMAC
  • Pharmaceutical industry experience
  • Understanding of Medicines New Zealand Code of Practice

Essential Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong teamwork/collaboration skills

  • Diplomacy and discretion

  • Superior writing and presentation skills to craft and deliver clear, effective messages.

  • Ability to identify and develop strategic policy positions

     

    Desirable:

  • Existing relationships with Ministry of Health and politicians

  • Previous Government role

  • Previous experience within a health-related patient group or corporate environment

  • Policy development (Government/Allied Health Organisations)

     

    Quality, Safety & Environmental Responsibilities:

  • Attend regular departmental meetings with manager/supervisor to build in continuous feedback mechanisms.

  • Meet the requirements of ISO and Class A by complying with all relevant Quality policies and procedures to ensure the Quality objectives of the business are met.

  • Comply with all relevant company Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental policies, procedures and work practices with the intent of preventing or minimising accidental exposures to self, colleagues and/or the environment.
