Mission

Contribute to the maximization of AbbVie Japan portfolio by creating and executing strategic planning on the drug development at the earliest timing (e.g. starting from the 'Enter-GLP tox' decision)


Responsibilities

1. Maximize early development phase drugs for AbbVie Japan pipeline

2. Manage the portfolio in AbbVie Japan

3. Contribute to AbbVie Japan's commitment to Translational Research


Role: detail

Early Strategic Planning & Translational Research

Lead the cross-functional Local Early Asset Team (LEAT) to manage the assessment of the early project in one or more TAs with the support of the direct manager.

・Create project introduction and project profiles for early projects passed Enter GLP-tox milestone decision.

・Create Japan early involvement plan (e.g. development/development/commercial strategy, timeline, cost estimation) in each early project.

・Collaborate with Global teams to incorporate Japan early involvement plan to the Global development plan at the appropriate and earliest timing, and to obtain a budget for the initial study for the Japan registration package (e.g. Asian PK study and Japan Phase 1 study).

・Hand over the early project to the LPT after obtaining the budget of the initial study for the Japan registration package.

・Gather and utilize an external knowledge through appropriate information sources (e.g. KOL interview, scientific journals, data base, conference and seminars) to the Japan early involvement plan.

・Support for cultivating an opportunity of translational research in collaboration with external investigators.


Background/Experience
・Over 10-year experiences on drug development including clinical operation.
・Experience to create a clinical development plan.
・ Experience to lead a cross-functional team (e.g. clinical lead, project management).
・ (Preferential: experience of market assessment, health economy analysis, companion diagnosis regulation or biomarker development).
・Communication skills in Japanese and English (TOEIC >750 or fluent/advanced speaking).
・ Logical thinking skill.
・Negotiation skill in English.
・Oral presentation skill in English.

Education
・ Maser or Bachelor degrees on Pharmacy, Biology, Agriculture, Veterinary, Medical or areas relating to drug development
・ PhD, MD or MBA is preferable
