The AbbVie Experiential Internship Program


As an AbbVie Experiential Intern, you'll participate in a paid, ten to twelve-week summer program that is focused on providing students with robust projects throughout the summer. As an intern, you will be located at our corporate headquarters in north suburban Chicago, with housing and shuttle services for eligible students. 


Department Overview – Regulatory Business Management


The Regulatory Affairs Business Management team drives the Regulatory Affairs mission and strategic priorities by providing communications counsel, change management leadership, financial resource solutions, best-practice training and business support for our regulatory processes and systems. 


Assignment Details


The RBM Intern will get exposure to communications and change management in Regulatory at AbbVie.  The Intern will provide support to an Associate Director on one or more projects. Experiences will vary based on interest, experience level, and skills. Responsibilities include:

  • Provide support in the planning, execution, and follow-up of project meetings.

  • Assist in the execution of the communications strategy, which could include preparation of the program communications and SharePoint site design.

  • Create succinct, strategic, yet illustrative presentations to be delivered to various stakeholders (e.g., program teams, business functions, IT).

  • Participate in key town-hall type events in which he/she will support the effort through slide creation and logistic support.

  • Leverage MS Office applications (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel) and learn/leverage technology (e.g., Smartsheet, Slidemodel, SharePoint, HTML, and Maestro) to assist in the creation of deliverables such as communications and change management plans, action item lists, and meeting materials.









  • Completed at least one year of  graduate level education before beginning internship

  • Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship

  • Graduate Level Student – Masters in Learning and Organizational Change

  • Minimum Cumulative GPA: 3.0/4.0

  • Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated).
